NKONKOBE MUNICIPALITY WELCOMES YOU
Nkonkobe Municipality was established in 2000 and is made of now disestablished TLCs i.e. Alice, Middledrift, Fort Beaufort, Hogsback and Seymour/Balfour. Alice is a legislative seat and Fort Beaufort is the administrative seat, the latter is situated about 140 km North West of East London on R63 and is approximately 200 km North East of Port Elizabeth. The municipality is the second largest local municipality covering 3 725 km2, and constituting 16% of the surface area of the Amatole District Municipality. Nkonkobe municipality is a countryside municipality that sits on the foot of the ever imposing and majestic mountain range of the Winterberg (IiNtabazeNkonkobe).
